JJPMKE
Ok, I know this topic has been discussed before and I have tried looking through the forums to find the correct answer and have failed! In multiple forums I have noticed people commenting on revisting a cache. What is the purpose of revisiting the cache after you have already found it the first time? Unless you are the CO, I am confused! Quote Link to comment

addisonbr
One of the most basic possibilities is that you enjoyed the spot and wanted to go back. There's also moving trackables along. Quote Link to comment
nthacker66
One of the most basic possibilities is that you enjoyed the spot and wanted to go back. There's also moving trackables along. That is the main reason I go back to a cache is the place it takes me to. I usually will write a note in the log when I do. I check on the cache to make sure all is well too. Quote Link to comment
J the Goat
Frequently when I revisit a cache it's because I'm hiking the same trail and just want to check up on it. This is helpful to CO's of caches that are a little off the beaten path, or way off the beaten path for that matter. Trackables that get stuck are a common reason too. Quote Link to comment

J the Goat
And then there's special cases like this for this. Oh man, there was a cache like that here for a short time. Unfortunately it was poorly done, what with the keys getting lost and the container being attached by being screwed into a live tree.... It's gone now. Quote Link to comment
niraD
I've returned to previously found caches for various reasons, including: to move trackables to trade for signature items required for a meta-game to show others a cache/location that I particularly enjoyed to take new geocachers to a good beginners' cache to let others in the group find a cache that I had previously found, but they had not yet found Quote Link to comment
HHD
There is a cacher in my area that makes it a habit to return to caches to make sure others haven't scratched off the Smiley face she makes at the end of her signature. Quote Link to comment

briansnat
For me the best caches bring me to places that I really enjoy visiting. So if I really liked a place I will go back0. While there I may check on the cache or perhaps show it to my companions if they've shown an interest in geocaching. Quote Link to comment
