Thought about getting one of those car TBs, but I had a few questions for anyone that has already bought one, and I'm sure there are others out there who have a few questions about these too. So, here I go: How strong are the magnets, will they easily fall off at high-ish speeds? Do they look really tacky? Are they worth the price I will end up paying for one (£7.50)? Has anyone ACTUALLY logged one? If anybody can answer some of these questions it will be much appreciated. Oh yeah, also any additions will be good as well. Many thanks 'Huetes Quote Link to comment
+Panda Inc Posted October 22, 2011 Share Posted October 22, 2011 I doubt the magnetic tags would fall off at normal highway speeds and they are easily removable ... so could possibly be muggled. I use mine for rental cars and just leave it on the dash. Our full time transportation uses the static TB on an inside window ... like this one : http://shop.geocaching.com/default/trackable-items-2/travel-bugs/static-cling-travel-bug.html. We have gotten several logs in random parking lots, as well as a few during geocaching meet-ups. It's fun! We have also spotted a few on other peoples' cars and logged them. We put ours on the right-hand side of the car, near the back. I wouldn't call it tacky, but then if you click on my profile and look at my car you would see it's hard to call any additional stickers tacky. Quote Link to comment

+L0ne.R Posted October 23, 2011 Share Posted October 23, 2011 Just saw my first magnetic tb yesterday. I was stopped at a red light. Looked over at the van in the next lane and did a double take. I grabbed my cell phone and snapped a shot then "discovered" the find when I got home. It had been logged 3 times - once in 2009, once in 2010 and then my log yesterday. Didn't look tacky on the silver van. It was a fun find. Quote Link to comment
