+ScottnJen
We are going to go after a cache that says we need a log retrieval tool. Before making/buying one, does anyone have some advice? Pictures would also be helpful - thanks! Quote Link to comment

+TheAlabamaRambler
I use a dart. On one end you have the long point, at the other you have the slots where the feather is inserted. That end makes a small tweezer-like device to extract the log and also serves as a handy log roller to roll the log small enough to fit back into a nano. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Probably just tweezers. Quote Link to comment

+aurght
You're a genius! I'm adding one to my already overweight pack. I carry a seam-ripper, but the dart looks much better for the rewind feature. Edited June 20, 2011 by aurght Quote Link to comment
knowschad
My favorite log retrieval tool, aside from the tweezers on my Swiss Army Knife: Quote Link to comment
+Dog Town
for nano's I took a 'cotter pin'(spelling???) (the things you stick in the hole of rods after inserting said rod into/through an object..so said rod does not slide out)... and cut off a piece of 3/4 wood dowel (about 1 inch long)...drilled hole in end... and glued said 'cotter pin' into said hole. Just slide 'cotter pin' into nano and pull...also,then makes the perfect 'log roller' to wind nano cache back up. I made a few and they work perfect. Will try to post pictures later.
