Bill_and_Heather
What does EGG stand for? I have searched and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
mpilchfamily
EGG isn't a Geocaching acronym. Where have you seen it and in what context? Here are the official terms. http://www.geocaching.com/about/glossary.aspx Here is a possibility for you. http://noosphere.princeton.edu/eggname.html Edited January 13, 2011 by mpilchfamily Quote Link to comment
Bhob
there is (or maybe was, by now) an organization that called itself the English Geocoin Group as I understand it, the stated purpose of this organization was to order geocoins in bulk from overseas, and distribute them to their members (with the main benefit being the saving of shipping costs) they produced a geocoin in 2006 - it just so happens that the coin was egg-shaped you might be able to get more information here - http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=113640 Quote Link to comment

Sol seaker
THis is turning into a guessing game. If you could give us more of a reference it would be a big help. There are a few series of caches in this area that hide the caches in plastic eggs and they are listed as such. Where did you see the word?? A link would be helpful. Quote Link to comment
Ike 13
I did some in TN on a power run. E.G.G.S. : the Easy Grab Guardrail Series says so right on the cache page. I don't know if that's what it means in your case. Quote Link to comment

briansnat
OK everyone, enough with the silliness. We try to stay away from that in the Getting Started forum. The OP asked an earnest question and deserves an earnest answer. If you have a reasonable guess then by all means respond. Posts 2,3,5,6 and 7 are good examples. To the OP, this is not a common geocaching term. Sometimes individuals make up acronyms or terms and sometimes they are only locally known and used. In those cases it's probably best to ask the person who used the term. Edited January 14, 2011 by briansnat Quote Link to comment
SpaceGamer
This acronym is a regional one. EGG is a common acronym in my area. As mentioned above, it's an Easy Grab Guardrail cache. They are usually tucked into the openings in the end of a guardrail. Quote Link to comment
