+rovers3
Toady around 11:00am EST I was walking along a road by a highway with clear view of the blue sky with sun shining and all of a sudden my Oregon 450, with BETA 4.32 and GPS Software 5.00, lost reception. I stopped and waited about 5 min but I could not get a lock on any satellites. I shut the unit off and restarted it and it picked up satellites right away and functioned normally the rest of the afternoon. This is a new unit purchased in December 2010. Anyone have any thoughts or similar experience? Quote Link to comment
+myotis
Go back to the non beta version. I had a problem of all of a sudden it jumped about 500 feet and it tracked me 500 feet away until I shut down and restarted. WAAS never worked right either. So I went back to the non beta version and everything worked great. The beta does not add any new features and is buggy on GPS reception. So why stay with it? Make sure you back up your profiles before downgrading to the non beta version. Quote Link to comment
+ecanderson
I'd back up to 4.30 to see how that goes as well. Neither 4.31 nor 4.32 have exactly been stellar with their new GPS chipset code. Quote Link to comment
+dfx
Anyone have any thoughts or similar experience? yep, exactly the same thing happened to me with the beta firmware too. Quote Link to comment
pberck
I've had the jumping problem with the older firmwares. It gotten less, but it still happens so now and then. Sometimes I have to switch off the unit, sometimes it fixes itself.... Quote Link to comment
+AndyT1
Happens to me about once a month. At first I thought it was related to low battery power untill it happened with a fresh set of batteries. Restarting the unit does the trick in fixing the issue. Running the latest non-beta firmware. Quote Link to comment
