+PastorDIC
I found a different setup for the keyboard of my ANDROID cell phone that has geocaching abbreviations at the top. One really stumps me. Does anyone know what the acronym MAIT stand for? Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
+rafermadness
No idea. I don't think I see anything like that in the GC Android App. What app are you using? Quote Link to comment
+PastorDIC
No idea. I don't think I see anything like that in the GC Android App. What app are you using? The Android App is called Geocaching Keyboard. v1.1 80KB I found it because I was just looking to see what was available. I went to Market, clicked the search icon in the upper right corner of the screen, and then typed in "Geocaching". Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Just above the I and O. Maint, perhaps (as in Needs Maint)? Why not ask the author? Edited September 22, 2010 by knowschad Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Just above the I and O. Maint, perhaps (as in Needs Maint)? Why not ask the author? Seeing the screenshot, Maintenance seems logical... Unless it's an acronym in another language. Quote Link to comment
jholly
Just above the I and O. Maint, perhaps (as in Needs Maint)? Why not ask the author? There is no good reason to ask the author. If we did that we would find the answer quickly. And then what are left to speculate about? Edited September 22, 2010 by jholly Quote Link to comment

MisterEFQ
I have no clue, the acronym finder comes up with these though: MAIT Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology (India) MAIT Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (CHP Investigative team assigned to multi-fatality or complex collisions) MAIT Major Accident Investigation Team MAIT Maintenance Assistance & Instruction Team MAIT Martial Arts Instructor/Trainer (US DoD) MAIT McCabe's Artificially Intelligent Tipper (sports tipping system) MAIT Mission Area Integration Team MAIT Major Area Integration Team MAIT Maharaja Agresen Institute of Technology And that doesnt really help. Skippermark
Relocating to the GPS section since it's more of an equipment thread. Quote Link to comment
+t4e
IMHO and LOL are not exactly related to geocaching either Quote Link to comment
+dfx
For that matter, what about T/L? Took Log? that's easy: took/left. example usage: "T/L: TB/geocoin". Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Anybody care to link in the "Nelsonings" thread? Quote Link to comment
+PaneledZero
I could be wrong, but it could mean the same as the "Needs Maintanence" option... Just a guess on my part.. I have a Android phone and didn't know about this app... Interesting... PaneledZero Quote Link to comment

+PastorDIC
For that matter, what about T/L? Took Log? that's easy: took/left. example usage: "T/L: TB/geocoin". The buttons I tried before the message just gave me the abbreviation symbol. I just pushed more buttons and got a big surprise. Some print out more than the abbreviation. For example: T/L = "Took: Left:" MAIN= "Cache/Log needs Maintenance" FROM= "Logged from my Android Phone" PNG= Just types PNG. I love that it gives the degree symbol so you can say you are out caching in 98 degree weather. Russ Quote Link to comment
+proutkat
T/L = "Took: Left:" MAIN= "Cache/Log needs Maintenance" FROM= "Logged from my Android Phone" PNG= Just types PNG. Wish it did spell check and word prediction. I like to write a longer log, but do like some of the abbreviations. Quote Link to comment
