+Pirates of Prescott
I purchased an Oregon 450 and was wondering how some of you set up your Profiles. For example I read you should create a profile for sunny conditions as well as for a shaded environment. Quote Link to comment
eaparks
Take a look at the Oregon wiki http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Miscellaneous#FAQ-M5.) specifically at Facts M4 & M5. Then on M5 fact go to the GPSFix link and download the Custom Profiles with the white backgrounds and colored borders. This will make it a lot easier to view. Then you can use MS Paint and add your Profile's name in the colored border at the top and bottom of the page and you can always easily see what profile you are in. You can do it just like the GPSFix ex. of the "Automotive" Profile. Edited September 15, 2010 by eaparks Quote Link to comment
+Redwoods Mtn Biker
Another good use of profiles is map types. That way you can easily switch between aerial imagery, vector topos, and USGS raster topos. Quote Link to comment
+New Jersey TJ
I have separate profiles for Car Navigation and Geocaching. The car navigation has the track set to lock on the road and the geocaching doesn't. I actually have a couple for geocaching to vary the map type. Sometimes I cache with a topo map, but sometimes I prefer the street map. Quote Link to comment
