Yes.

Why would I do that?
and the pic above, is this one of them?
I think it's the one I found.
perhaps it is just a sig item??
Possibly. I dunno, that's why the first post.

These things are true: It says "Geocookie" on the back. It has a number on the back. I found it in a cache. There is no reference to it in any of the logs for that cache. The picture I posted is the item I found in a cache, which has "Geocookie" and a number on its back and which is not referenced in the cache logs.

OK...

Here's my theory to the mysterious geocookie:

As an artist, craftsperson etc., I've noticed several designer items used by geocachers for trading into caches. I, included, use a "signature" item that I will sometimes trade in a cache. I refer to it as a "geonut", or "my signature item" etc. in the log in books. I usually sign it and sometimes date it and even name it to a cache. The purpose of this, (perhaps) is to create something unique enough for cachers to collect. The numbers may refer to the artists own file of record. It having absolutely nothing to do with the normal TB logging scenerio.

Consider this item as a precious collectable. To trade or not to trade... Your choice. I like to hunt and find specific items in caches. (Not just TB's) I'm in hopes of actually setting up a curio cupboard for all these signature items that various cachers leave behind. Each item reflects a persons unique character sometimes, and its interesting to meet cachers through their exchanged items.

Some day I will find my own geocookie!
