+Birdman-of-liskatraz
Is there any way to, either: a.) Display Magic Map Boundaries on say Memory Map on a PDA. or b.) Get Magic Maps to display the position of a set of coordinates with a cross or something similar? I'm trying to hide a cache on the side of a Granite Tor - the whole of the hillside is strewn with large granite boulders and despite my best efforts, I can't align the brown line shown on Magic Maps with features visible on the ground. +The Blorenges
All I can offer you is my resource site where I've given help on how to use the map and the layers. You can enter coords (check the format accepted) or a nearby placename and then drag the map to the required location. You can also zoom in/out. Use the link to Streetmap to display a corresponding map of the area. You can enter the coords and Streetmap opens with an arrow at the location. Change the detail from default 1:50K to 1:25K by clicking the large + sign. Then zoom Magic to the same view (ish) and check against each other. You can save the Magic map screen and I have overlayed that (jpg) onto Google Earth. Fiddly but it works. There's not enough features on either Magic or Street Map to compare the two.. Can I ask how you know if a set of coordinates is within one of the SSSI/SAM/NT etc areas? Quote Link to comment

+Teuchters
But what was just as impressive was the Geograph image integration on a cache page. Clever or what! Thanks once again! Quote Link to comment
