Zip Lock Bags

We've been caching a few weeks and now we'd like to "pay it forward" by replacing the occasional Zip Lock bag that have deteriorated.

 

We haven't made a point to bring a ruler with us when caching so...what sizes should we purchase?

Just use a regular sandwich bag. Those usually work.

If the size of the cache container allows for it, I would recommend a freezer zipper bag, which start at about 7 by 8 inches (18 by 20 centimeters). Freezer bags are made of thicker plastic, making them more durable.

How about for the small caches such as film cannisters?

In an earlier thread, Walgreens' "Pill Pouches" were recommended for small containers.

I usually carry quart freezer ziploc bags. The regular bags are much thinner than the freezer ones, and the quart bags work well in most regular sized caches.

I use ZipLoc snack bags, about half the size of a sandwich bag. They are 6 1/2" x 3 1/4" They work for most pill bottles, matchstick, and magnetic keyholders. I figure they have to be better than what was in there.

For magnetic keyholders, I use 2" x 3" Bagettes that I got at the local craft store. (Michael's, I think.) You don't have to fold over the seal.

Thats the size I use and where I get them. Great for keyholders, 35 MM film cans, and match-toothpick containers.
