+WBGamers
I picked up what looks like a geocoin. I haven't found one before, so I'm not sure what to look for. It is a wooden coin that says "Quintette was here!" on one side and "Geocaching since June 2008, Farmington Hills, MI" on the other. The number 00150 is stamped on the back. When I try to look up the number on geocaching.com, I get the following error: 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. The coin also does not show up in the trackables list of the cache it was found in. Quote Link to comment
+Telecacher
Sounds like you found a wooden nickle. Not a geocoin. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Not a geocoin, but rather what is called a signature item. Lots of wooden nickles out there, pathtags, playing cards, poker chips. A geocoin will say "Trackable at geocaching.com", somewhere on it. I guess some off the tiny ones may not. The very tiny ones will have the tracking number along the outer edge of the coin. +wolfslady
It sounds like someone’s signature item. There are a lot of them out there and you can find out about them by doing a search. I think the geocaching topics board has a thread about them, but don’t quote me on that. LOL Some are very collectable, others are just an I was here sort of thing but don't seem very creative. Most Geocoins are metal and the ones that are trackable here say "trackable at geocaching.com on them along with the number. I hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
