+mchaos
I know I can use google to search the forum, But it makes me wonder why the search function on the forum stinks. Its not worth even using. Why is it set to be so limited? Link to comment
+StarBrand
Performance. The forum software is so poorly written (not by Groundspeak) that our volume of posts bogs down the server too much to allow searches on short common words. TPTB have promised an upgrade to the software someday. Link to comment
+dfx
a futile attempt to ease the load on the forum server. Link to comment
+mchaos
the search at this point is so useless that they might as well remove the search option all together. It doesn't find anything you are looking for anyway. A search link can be made easily to use google to search the forum specifically. A lot of forums use this method to lessen to load on the server. Time Groundspeak got with the times.... Just make a search bar that will search google that adds this at the end of every request site:http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/ Example: should there be a nano size? site:http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/ and then you will get plenty of specific results. +dakboy
Search for most forums (not just this one, and not just the software used for this one) is poor. It's the difference between tacking on a simple "find these words" feature and an "understands language and language-related concepts" system (Google offers the latter). Link to comment
