+extremecampers
Hi, A year ago we attempted a complicated Lord of The Rings multi cache @ Presque Isle State Park in Erie,Pa due to mosquito's and ticks we had to abandon it for the year and now we can't find the listing on Geocaching.com to attempt to start our search over again. Does anyone know what happened to it? Thanks in advance EC Quote Link to comment

+silksmybaby
Good point, I geocached with my dad years ago (around 02) and the cahce is no longer active and i recently joined the caching community. Is there any way to find it? It'snot even listed as archived around here Quote Link to comment
knowschad
If you can dig up the GC# for it, you can view the cache page. But there is no active multi-cache by that name in Presque Isle State Park at the current time. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Sadly, that grand old multicache has been archived. You can find it by searching for GC386C. Quote Link to comment
+LadeBear68
Oh wow, that is a blast from the past. I wanted to do that cache, as a fan of Tolkein, and forgot all about it. Sad to see it has been archived. Edited May 24, 2010 by LadeBear68 Quote Link to comment
Mr.Yuck
Sadly, that grand old multicache has been archived. You can find it by searching for GC386C. Interesting. I didn't know either. I'm about 90 miles away, but never got to it. The local caretaker posted spoiler pics of all the stages as he removed them. That's pretty cool. And hey, they were all regulars!! Who's idea was it to make legs of multi-caches micros in the woods, anyways?? I know the first multi's in my area all by the same placer in 2002 were all micro legs. Then again, that explains everything. Just babbling, sorry you didn't get to finish. Quote Link to comment
+DragonsWest
Surprising how many Presque Isles there are. When I saw the name I thought of this vicinity. Nonetheless, seems a good excuse for a road trip. Quote Link to comment

So many of the longtime multi/series caches disappear before out-of-town visitors get to them, though I understand that maintenance and other issues are factors. The Bill and Gary Excellent Adventure annual series was another I always wanted to do but never reached. I love theme series caches with an actual storyline, not just a theme title. +geodarts
Come to California - explore lesser known history and geology. Or for that matter, do our own Fellowship of the Ring series. That one has been on my "to do" list for far too long. I gotta get down there sometime. Edited May 24, 2010 by Erickson Quote Link to comment
