  1. This is my own cache so I haven't technically found it but most of the comments are about how this is their favorite cache so thought I'd post it! Hint: you have to reach under the little one to get it which is under the big one And if you come during a holiday you may see it dressed up! Or even during a yardsale! (yes my parents and I are crazy) GC299AW Manatee Crossing And here is the cache
  2. There was one that had given me a heck of a lot of trouble. I had just started back into geocaching last fall and there was one I could not for the life of me find. I did about 6 trips with all sorts of company... my roomie, my friend, my roomie and friend, my neighbor, and 2 by myself, but the cache succeeded to evade me. I was doing my last trip before I was going to have to call it off due to snow coming the next day and so I wouldn't be able to try that one for several months so was going to give up on it, when there was someone hiking. I kept looking, not paying any attention when I heard her ask "You lookin for the cache?" I said yes and she helped me... it was where I never would've found it but I am so thankful I did ask for her help!
  3. I thought you were talking about the First To Find game sold by Groundspeak
  4. Also people might hide the critter somewhere caches are not allowed so then geocachers could get in trouble for trespassing or caching in parks where it isnt allowed.
  5. Geocache Fan page Geocaching.com Fan page Geocache Group Geocaching Stats Application
  6. Right, because they know all the other folks golfing on the course. Wouldn't want to play around strangers. You know what I mean...
  7. You always carry a GPS in your purse, glovebox, and caching bag... yes I even took it in my purse to prom since there were several caches next to the hotel it was at
  8. I would be careful with this because families like to mini golf and I don't know if I would like to be golfing around a stranger wandering around looking suspicious and poking at the ground
  9. Guess I could add it as an optional task but the fun here would be reading previous entries and contributing your own.
  10. I thought I had read that somewhere but I couldn't remember where
  11. Not really all that uncommon to find such things. IMO, the owner should let the thing die instead of running it on and on and on with proxy cards. Geez, it's not like a set of TB tags are all that expensive. Perhaps there is another reason that TB owners do that, if so it eludes me. What may not be expensive to you could be an entire village year's wages! Well not that dramatic but you know what I mean. Also it could be a mileage thing. If my bug traveled 10,000 miles I would want it to continue traveling as long as I could!
  12. I have an idea for a local cache but am not sure how it would work when it comes to logging online. I would like to place a small journal in a cache and ask that to log the cache they must write at least 1/2 page of a story, continuing on from the previous cacher's story. They can write more if they wish but to log it online they have to write at least that much. If all they do is sign the log and post online it gets deleted and does not count. All I would ask they log online would be "TFTC" or soemthing short. The point of this would be to go to this location and read the journal and write a story. (It would be in a nice peaceful and hopefully inspirational area) Just wondering what you guys would think of this cache. Are these allowed? *don't stone the newbie cache hider*
  13. I do the same thing out of REXlace though, cheap and you can make a lot really quickly, and each one is unique!
  14. This is a fairly good list. Anything else you can usually google along with the term "geocaching" and something will pop up.
  15. I'm the abandoned newbie. Started out strong but had no one to teach me, kinda picked it up by myself and always go by myself which can be boring. A big reason I'm fading is I'm no longer in school and now that I'm home I'm more lazy I'm sure I'll get better eventually but we all have to start out as newbies
  16. It's a reference to Monty Python's "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table". YouTube has several clips from the movie. A search for "Knights Ni Python". Funnier I think is the French Taunting clip. Search for "Python French Taunting". This has nothing to do with anything but I did laugh at the end.
  17. This tells it better than I ever could
  18. The Travel Bugs Since I have gotten it I haven't stopped listening. Made a CD and put it on my ipod and listen to it everywhere! Well worth every penny!
  19. If you were planning on placing it anyway and KNEW you were going to get "negative comments" then why even post it here?
  20. I LOVE caching between classes! It is something fun to do to lighten my load and get me out to keep off the freshmen 15!
  21. Perhaps for those of us who are newer, you could explain their stance and reasoning?
  22. I recently "borrowed" my dad's new oregon 200 and just export all my gsak into the "geocache" folder and am on my way
  23. Give me a heads up if you plan to come by! My mother LOVES talking to the cachers she was excited the day it was placed she was watching out the window all day
  24. If you tried it today I had trouble with it too it kept saying no caches found and wouldn't search but havent had trouble before today so give it a few days and try again I would say
  25. I would suggest sending that message to the person complaining
