Chrysalides
I'm so disappointed I can't get this for my Nuvi. http://starwars.tomtom.com/voices/ Of course, it may not be so helpful when you're told to "turn to the Dark Side" at every intersection. Oh, and May the 4th be with you! Quote Link to comment
ecanderson
Oh, and May the 4th be with you! AWFUL! Surely there's a moderator around here somewhere that we can convince to suspend you for at least a week for THAT one! I have a TT, and I like C3PO better than Darth Vader. Unfortunately, all of the fun voices don't do text-to-speech. FYI: The site you pointed to is a bit of a rip. Those voices and many others are available for free elsewhere. Here's a site with a few more: http://www.colinj.co.uk/tomtom/tomtom_voices.htm Edited May 4, 2010 by ecanderson Quote Link to comment
Chrysalides
$13 per voice does sound rather steep, but I'll pay that for Darth Vader to guide me if it is any good. It is by TomTom, which I assume means it is official and that George Lucas gets a cut. Anyway, all I could find for Garmin is : http://www8.garmin.com/vehicles/voices/ I might put Squirrel on my Nuvi just to see the look on my wife's face. Quote Link to comment
Knight2000
We have Darth and C3PO for our TomTom as well as a bunch of others. They get extremely annoying after the novelty wears off. Quote Link to comment
Zork V
I found the original recordings for the Tom Tom, starring Darth Vader. Quote Link to comment
GeePa
This site describes how to convert the TomTom chk file to a bunch of wav files: TomTom-->Wav From there you can use the Garmin Voice Studio (download here) to convert the wav files to Garmin voice files. Never tried it myself. Let me know if it works. Quote Link to comment
