+ReedKyCacheFinders
Can I use the same USB cord that I use to load info to my GPSMAP 60CSx on the Nuvi 205?? I just don't want to buy another cord that I might have already to load stuff to the Nuvi 205, Plus, I don't want to mess up the Nuvi if I can't use the same cord on both? Quote Link to comment
+splashy
Yes, you can. It might not work, it will not harm. Quote Link to comment

+dakboy
As long as both use the same standard USB plug (very likely), it'll work fine. USB is USB - the U stands for universal. Chances are, if the plug fits, it'll work just fine. You probably have a digital camera cord that'll also fit. Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
It's a commodity USB mini B cable. They interchange fine. I have a zillion GPSes, including the 60CSX and several Nuvis and they all work fine. What sometimes gets you into trouble is third party chargers for Nuvi. Depending on the pullup on pin 5 they'll sometimes "trick" the Nuvi into going into mass storage mode (which prevents it from doing Nuvi Stuff) instead of just powering up. Quote Link to comment
WPMD
We have a GPS60 and Nuvi 205W. We use the same cable for both, no problems. Quote Link to comment

The usb cable WILL charge your usb, but some will actually put it into computer mode (where you can transfer stuff over from your computer) and some will just put it into charge mode. If it puts it into computer mode and you just want charge mode, there's a way to do it. I don't feel like typing it out right now, but if that's the case, let me know and I'll explain it. +RonFisk
Shouldn't be a problem. I have both a Oregon 550t and a Nuvi 265wt and use the same cable for both. The one exception is the auto adaptor for the Nuvi has the FM receiver for your traffic alerts, but will still work for both. Quote Link to comment

It charges and does data a the same time. robertlipe noted a specific problem he's seen that can get in the way of doing what you want because of how it operatetes. However thats the exception. In my case I use the NUVI 850 and Oregon 300 cables interchangably as I can't find one sometimes and can't find the other the other times. Sometimes I can't find either and use whatever USB cable fits. I've yet bumped into the problem mentioned. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
If you just used it to transfer data to one unit, make sure the cable is empty before connecting it to a different unit. Quote Link to comment
