Way back when there wasn't such a universal term for swag, and swag was just one of the contenders for "cache trade contents". The leading definition for the word swag was the "swag" they gave away on radio shows. The DJ's said "swag" when talking about giveaways, and we cachers said "that works for us too". In time it became the leading term. Quote
