Feature request: remove multiple caches from watchlist

Hi,

I'd like to see a way to remove caches from my watch list with ease. Something as easy as a checkbox next to each cache on the watchlist and then a button to "check all" or "clear all", and then another button to "Remove Checked Caches from Watchlist". Pretty easy to implement I would think.

I can't speak for everyone, but I sure have a ton of caches on my watchlist, maybe half of them archived now. There's no easy way to clean up the list without removing them one by one. Yuck! ;)

Please? ;):D

I just pruned about thirty out of the list last night. It took almost an hour, mostly because of slow responses from the web site. I figure that to do this, I hit the site about 90 times. A checkbox down the side, like in the LOC download on a search page, or deleting bookmarks from a list, I would have hit the site twice. The feature that you are requesting would have brought an hours work down to about five minutes. Who knows what it would have saved on the servers, which seemed to be laboring at the time.

Thanks! :D

In any case I think it's a worthy request, better than several I've seen posted in the last couple of weeks. :(

Not only do you have to remove them one-by-one, but you have to confirm it too. It's just a watch list action, not critical (or irrevocable) in any way so confirmation shouldn't really be needed - it just makes things cumbersome.

Remove > Yes > Remove > Yes > Remove > Yes... Etc...

I know this doesn't help your current watchlist situation, but we use a bookmark list* instead of the watchlist as it allows multiple removals

It has the 'advantage' that the cache owner doesn't know that their cache is being watched :(

*It has limitations though as trackables can't be added to a bookmark list...

This is also my suggestion.

Clear the caches out of you watchlist once and for all...save it for TBs only.

Create an un-shared, non-public bookmarklist list, and select the option to be notified when caches on the list are logged.

Of course, it might be fun to have the list be public, with a name like I'M WATCHING YOU!

When maintaining a watchlist or a bookmark list, it would also be nice to see when the cache was added to the list. If I can't remember why a cache is on the list and I added it two years ago, it's probably no longer the matter of life and death that it surely was at the time I added it. :P

For the bookmark list, at least, you have the option to add any notes you like for each listing. I use this feature for solved puzzles awaiting owner confirmation of my solution.

Bookmark lists are great, but the OP was about maintaining the watchlist.

Yes, of course.

Just trying to help solve your dilemma using the current feature-set.

I suspect that by the time TPTB enable a feature to clear your watchlist en-masse, all the caches on it will have been archived.

Bumping this back up to get some response form the PTB.

How about it guys? How about a multiple checklist to remove caches or trackables from the wathlist at one time, instead of:

Remove > Yes > Remove > Yes > Remove > Yes... Etc...

A long list is tiresome to remove many, one at a time.

Thanks

A more appropriate request would be the ability to move watchlist caches to a specified bookmark list. That gives you a quick conversion to the bookmark list method.
