+DaisyChain Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I found a geocoin with F-14 Tomcat on it. It's a fighter jet. It's not activated. Does anyone know the story behind this coin? It looks so interesting, there has to be a story. Thanks! Quote
+Shilo Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 They were made by Hogwild stuff. They were made in honor of the F-14 after the military decommissioned them a couple years ago. The exact person who had them made slips my memory at the moment. Maybe someone else can chime in. Quote

December 1970 - September 2006 or 2008 (I can't read the small print). Thank you! Quote
+The Ravens Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Is the coin cut in the shape of a F-14 or is it round with the nose jet extending past the coins edge? Quote
+Great Scott! Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Is it this coin? The geocacher's name along the fuselage reads: tomcatATgod Quote
+Ashallond Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 The national guard base in my town had F-14's. The base was to be closed, but after VIGOROUS lobbying, the base was kept open, and they were re-assigned A-10 Warthogs. Quote
+Shilo Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 ....the base was kept open, and they were re-assigned A-10 Warthogs. Awesome planes but ugly as sin Quote
