+LeupiT Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Hello developers, in my view, it is neccessary to add a new attribute to your site "New Cache": Cars: Not allowed // N/R I often hide a cache at pathes between wide agricultural fields. There are signs that only pedestrian are allowed and cars are NOT allowed. I want to show this to the seekers before they are starting to drive there. Thanks, best regards from Germany, LeupiT
+Pat in Louisiana Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Instead of adding to the large number of attributes available would it not be as easy to just add a note to your description?
knowschad Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Instead of adding to the large number of attributes available would it not be as easy to just add a note to your description? Couldn't filter a pocket query by that, though.
+StarBrand Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Instead of adding to the large number of attributes available would it not be as easy to just add a note to your description? Especially true since the attributes are not included in GPX files that many use while paperless caching. Put bold text at the top and bottom of the description about the car restriction.
+Pat in Louisiana Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I had not thought of that. I don't use the available tools near as much as I should. Can't remember the last time I even looked at a cache's attributes before heading out. Although I do include them in my hides.
+Allanon Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Doesn't matter either way. A lot of people don't bother with reading the description and even fewer use/read/filter on the attributes.
+LeGodFather Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 People usually look at hints or try to fit the hint in the GPS's waypoint description.. so, you should put it there, in the hint! "No cars allowed"
toczygroszek Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Instead of adding to the large number of attributes available would it not be as easy to just add a note to your description? I read all the time the same answer when somebody has an idea for new useful waipoint. And I still don't understand why atribute "dogs allowed/not allowed" is better than "car allowe/not allowed" or any other attribute. So maybe is good idea cancel all attributes beacuse you can all include all in desription?Sorry, but I really don't understand what's the problemm add atribute if people says it's useful...
+Arrow42 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 "Significant hike" "Difficult climbing" etc. If you can't get a car near a site one of the other attributes are likely to apply.
