Geo Cache Bomb on news!

I was wondering which geocaches they were. It looks like they may have been some smalls and micros planted along the side (or inside) Patty Jewitt Golf Course. GC1D40P and GC1EAJ4 may have been encountered and GCW02K Teed Off Sounds like the one that police described to the news on-scene.

That KKTV reporter sure needs to work on her research though. She sounded plain dumb and was even messing up non-geocaching related phrases. But I am hard on newsies, being one myself.

I haven't been caching in a while, but this reminded me to go out and enjoy.

Sounds like it turned out good for everyone.

1. Bomb squad got to play with their robot.

2. Local school signed off on their quarterly disaster drill.

3. No geocache was assploded and no geocacher faces charges or fines.

4. Incompetent news crew still got their story aired.

Co. Springs PD gets a thumbs up for once.

I always love it when they refer to caches as "GPS Devices". It sounds as if the caches are tracked by people with the GPS Tracking Devices.

You just want to say "Hey stupid, It's Tupperware."

I guess that "Tupperware Scrambles Federal CERT Team" Doesn't sound as good as GPS Devices.

I wish they would refer to caches as game pieces much the same as the shoe in monopoly should trigger a school to shut down. We need to reserve that kind of response for when Sally shares an aspirin with a classmate.

Can you believe this trash. ;) Will our game suffer? Will it flourish?

I guess time will tell. And had this on my watch list to find today.

Guess its time to update my list for the Un-Exploded ones. :D

It's flourished pretty well in the last eight or nine years.

A CHAPSTICK TUBE BOMB?

Based on the report in "The Gazette" (the local paper that got their facts together and didn't call the cache a "GPS tracking device") the actual cache was a chap-stick container. While the bomb-squad was there, they found some other items that caused them alarm such as a pipe with a wire sticking out that apparently had nothing to do with a geocache.

(Love that animated icon!)

A REAL PIPE BOMB

Even as a noobie i would know never to make a cache like this. i think this picture should be on the rules..

It's not what the cache looks like, it's where it is. The more we insist on placing caches in high traffic areas the more this is going to happen. Some people may think it's good for the sport. I don't.
