Is the Vista Laptop a 64 bit Vista by any chance? Control Panel -> system and read the system type. If it is a 64 bit system hot sync does not work. If your PDA has a data card you can use that, but it does take a bit more work than pushing the hot sync button. As for renaming the PDA between the desktop and laptop, I have a XP desktop and a Vista laptop. My PDA syncs just fine on both units. Just have the user accounts setup correctly and your okay. Jim Exactly, in the setup dialogue for the Palm it will ask what name your PDA is. It MUST be the same name that you've given the Palm. Now, if I could just get my Palm from crashing my computer every other time I try to Hot Sync!!!!!!! I asked a similiar question several months ago and I can't remember the reply but I am sure you can find it by going back. Mine was something "Vista with a palm". Or something like that. Anyway mine works now. At first I had to enter the code that came with the palm each time to sync. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
+WRASTRO
I have Vista on my desktop and it took me a while to figure out that I needed to name the file differently each time I hot synched. Quote Link to comment
