GOF and Bacall Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Gift idea for the holidays: Geocaching Starter Kits ... GPS Devices ... Clothing ... and more. http://shop.Groundspeak.com When was the last time that book was updated? Edited December 7, 2010 by GOF and Bacall Quote
+MissJenn Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 The 2nd edition came out in 2009. Quote
jholly Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 So why don't you have the official Groundspeak golf ball for primo swag? Okay, I'll go stand in the corner now. Quote
+kwcahart Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I would order a track-able baseball cap right now if they were available. Maybe two. Otherwise, a "T" shirt in XL would be wonderful.. Quote
+d+n.s Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Thanks, Wrastro. Any other interested parties in adult sizes of the Trackable Shirt? Yep. XX Large. I'd love a hat with one on it I think a hat would be better too. I don't wanna wear the same shirt when I hike or cache every time Quote
+BullRit Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 a "T" shirt in XL would be wonderful.. Amazing that everyone is willing to buy the TB t-shirts in a heartbeat but never able to purchase them from GS? Toddler t-shirts are cute but what about us grownups that would truly appreciate what they represent? Does GS really want us to spend our money elsewhere? Quote
g_o_caching Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 This is the first time I've seen this thread and immediately got jazzed about looking for a travel bug shirt for myself and my caching buddies. There's none in the Groundspeak store A little research did provide other sources but it surprises me that Groundspeak didn't jump on this opportunity, or if they did, dropped the line after a short period of time. An iron-on decal similar to the ones for cars would be a nice option too. It could be applied to many sizes and/or styles of shirts. I didn't read all the way through to see if it was explained why they aren't in the Groundspeak store. I would like to get one and support Groundspeak instead of getting something elsewhere. Quote
+MissJenn Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 Does GS really want us to spend our money elsewhere? Many Groundspeak officially-licensed products are sold elsewhere by independent vendors. Quote
+Ambrosia Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 The 2nd edition came out in 2009. Nice new cover picture! Quote
+niraD Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Still waiting for a trackable HAT!!!I'm rather hard to fit, so I like trying things on before I buy them. But it's easy enough to take your favorite hat (or other garment) and attach a TB tag or a trackable patch. I know a few people who have done that. Quote
jholly Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Still waiting for a trackable HAT!!! I have one that I got as a gift. Quote
+d+n.s Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Still waiting for a trackable HAT!!! I have one that I got as a gift. Is this a situation where "let me google that for you" is appropriate? Quote

I did not want to post a direct link to the commercial site. They have a habit of disappearing in a shower of splats. I figured if you got the google page the casual observer would be able to figure out the next step. Quote

I figured if you got the google page the casual observer would be able to figure out the next step. Its just typically considered a pretty snotty method of linking to a search and is usually used in cases where someone asks people on the internet a stupid question that a quick google search could have answered. The whole "step 1. step 2. Was that so hard?" thing isn't meant to be genuinely helpful, but instead it's mocking the person who asked the initial question. Didn't seem necessary in this case. Quote

The direct link would not have lasted for more that 15 or 20 minutes. There are restrictions on posts of a commercial nature. I guess you consider [link removed by moderator] a better answer. So be it, but at least the link is still there. So far Thrak has not complained. Edited December 9, 2010 by jholly Quote

+FloridaFour Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I like the static cling car trackable and the bike sticker trackable, but boy are they expensive. I'd pay $5 tops for the car trackable and $3 for the bike trackable. They are plastic and stickers, afterall and will not last as long as a metal dog tag. Please lower the prices. Quote
+MissJenn Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 The 2nd edition came out in 2009. Nice new cover picture! Indeed! Those paying attention will know that it's the same family as in the cover of the 1st edition - just a few years later. Quote

Shop Geocaching Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Still waiting for a trackable HAT!!! We're currently looking into options for these. The trick is finding a way to make these with the unique tracking number and still keep them affordable. If anyone has any good ideas for this, we'd be happy to hear them. For now, as MissJenn said, we do have some official Groundspeak distributors that currently carry travel bug hats and shirts. Please keep the ideas coming for products you'd like to see in the Shop. Post here or email shop@Groundspeak.com with your suggestions! Quote
