+Delta68 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Despite having the Mio for about 18 months I've only just got round to trying to use the wi-fi functionality. So basically how on earth do I get it to talk to my wireless router? Thanks M Quote

+purple_pineapple Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Mark When you manage it, let me know, I've already tried and failed in the past despite following instructions to the letter! R a word of warning I discovered. If you use wireless encryption on your router 9which you hopefully do) Windows Mobile will only work with WPA encryption (the lastest) NOT with WEP encryption. That might be one place to look at. otherwise, its just a matter of making sure network keys and SSIDs are all set up correctly. It might be useful to set your router to broadcast the SSID (network name, ie House or BELKIN54) initially, so you can make it easier to connet to it! hope that helps a bit Dave Quote

+purple_pineapple Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I've never had any problems with my P560 Is that with a secure [wireless] network? OK, so what's not working? More info required! Can the mio see the wireless network? Does it show up on the list of available networks? Is the wireless networking even turned on? (You won;t be able to connect while the mio is syncing to a PC, by the way). Quote
+Delta68 Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Can the mio see the wireless network? no Does it show up on the list of available networks? no Is the wireless networking even turned on? yes is the mio turned on? yes Our 'netbook' connects to the wireless router with no problems whatsoever. So at least I know the router is not blame Quote
