Unknown clue types

I have seen a couple of new caches that have some characters in the clue that I'm not familiar with. The example below is one of them.

Could anybody tell what this is trying to tell me?

I've seen similar cache clues, but I'd have to see the rest of the description to figure it out. BUT, I try to not give out hints for other people's puzzle caches. It kinda steals something from the cache owner if people pass around the solution to the puzzle without asking first.

 

Speaking of the owner, have you asked him/her for a hint?

Basically, it's a puzzle. It's considered bad etiquette to come to the forums and ask for specific solutions to puzzle caches - kinda like somebody finding a traditional cache and signing the logbook for you.

 

If you're stuck, the best thing to do is to email the owner of the cache and ask for help.
