+mrdirectorsir
Protocol question: While were out geocaching one day, we found something interesting along the way that made me turn around, go back, and make sure I saw what I had seen, and I did. However, it was on private property. The people who lived there were out, so I pulled into the driveway to ask what about what I had seen, and he was more than willing to share his story. I can't be sure the thing will always be there, but it would be an interesting side note if someone went by. I wish I had thought to ask his permission to post his coordinates, but didn't, and I'm not necessarily willing to drive another 150 miles to find out. Any suggestions on how to handle this? +StarBrand
Sounds like something for Waymarking. You could probably look at some maps including arial photos to get some decent co-ordinates. Quote Link to comment

+youngcampers
I have an eTrex Legend and it has a "TracBack" feature that every set amount of time/distance will record your location (kinda like bread crumbs). If you haven't deleted the track, you should be able to get a real close proxitmity to this thing you were looking at...just follow the crumbs. You'll need to remember curves in the road, or topo features. You may not have EXACT coords, but you'll be pretty close. Hope this helps! Quote Link to comment

The coordinates are not the problem, I'm just wondering if it is kosher to post them as a site without the owner's permission. It's not necessarily something you have to drive down the driveway to see, but I'd hate to see them overwhelmed with people asking about his display. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
You should consider posting in the Waymarking.com forums for assistance with your protocol question, as well as in locating an appropriate category for whatever it is that you saw. Remember, Geocaching.com stopped accepting new virtual cache submissions in late 2005. Still, I get a few every month. Quote Link to comment
