WyseGuys Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I notice on some of my caches that several people have them on their watch list. Sometimes it would be nice to know who they are. Are they people who have DNF's and are waiting for the cache to be found before trying again, or simply other cachers who are interested. I think it would be great for cache owners to see who is watching their cache. Anyone else agree?
TexasGringo Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I don't care Who is watching but WHY they are watching my Cache.

Markwell Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 probably i missed some ... Well, there's the post in the Read First! Geocaching Frequently Asked Questions thread pinned at the top of the Getting Started forum...
Prime Suspect Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 But, but, but... this is a "new" feature request!
KoosKoos Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 and here my wife and I were JUST having this conversation last night....when she asked me why you couldn't see a list of who was watching your cache....and I pointed out how many times it'd been hashed over in the forums. She didn't understand the resistance either....but here we are.
Miragee Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I don't care Who is watching but WHY they are watching my Cache. There are a number of reasons why people watch caches. I watch brand new caches to see who is FTF. I'll also watch caches I haven't found yet, but which I have heard are interesting. Some people watch caches they couldn't find, whether they logged a DNF or not . . . I don't watch as many caches as I used to, because I use Bookmark lists now, and if the Bookmark list is "Not Public," you don't know how many people are "watching" your cache and getting the logs.
StarBrand Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Add a note to cache listing page asking the "watchers" to ID themselves. See what happens.
_BBQ_ Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Add a note to cache listing page asking the "watchers" to ID themselves. See what happens. I think that's a great idea. I'd show people. Bookmarks are nice, but not as quick and easy as watch lists. I think the ID option is an excellent solution. I've always wanted this feature.
