  1. Well, I've always known we're just members of the unwashed masses, now we have confirmation To OpinioNate : glad to know it's in the pipeline. Thanks for the update. Oh dear, I think the forum software is preventing it from being downloaded by anyone but an admin based on the topic permissions. Lemme figure something else out. Edit: I uploaded the zip file to Google Docs. After a quick check of the example and the specs the "not" for attributes seems to have gone. or did i miss something?
  2. you could change the setup of your gpsr to show dregrees minutes instead of just degrees (probably the best choice for long term caching success) or convert your degrees to degrees minutes with a calculator N 32.60594 = N 32° (.60594 * 60)' = N 32° 36,.356' I will leave the the other one as an excercise for the reader
  3. Then why does the "Add/Edit Instant Notifications" screen have an option for "Retract Listing"?That's exactly what this is about. All my notifications have this box checked, every once in a while a cache gets retracted, but I have never received a notification on retraction. So I assume it's just not working properly.
  4. sorry, I didn't take note of the GC number, so I had to wait for the next oneGCWAYV gave me a publish notification, bot the retract notification is missing
  5. Since today another cache "disappeared" in broad daylight without seeing a notification for this, I wonder if notifications really do work for this kind of action.
  6. time parameter in our part of the world is 8 weeks. if your cache has been disabled for that amount of time reviewers start nagging you with notes to your cache listing and will archive it if you do not react on the notes.
  7. Chrysalides was right. GC1T8PY was logged twice. I deleted one of the logs and find count went down to 501 and every page had 20 caches on it. Then i started a little experiment and logged one of my archived caches 20 times as found. and the result was: so it seems if you are looking for caches you logged as found more than once check for pages containing less than 20 caches and you found it. Now I will have to delete the 20 logs again, but I hope I could demonstrate the effect and show how to reproduce it. the lackeys may decide if this form of presentation is a feature or a bug. thanks for your help
  8. when checking my found mysts it says I found 502 mysts. If I scroll to the last page with the ">>" link everything seems fine since there are 26 pages and only 2 caches on the last page. Normally a page holds 20 caches so 20*25+2 = 502. So far so good. But if I have a closer look at page 2, there are only 19 caches listed. which one is missing? where has it gone? and why?
  9. Btw. if you feed the text of that slow down message to google to you will notice they got blocked too. wouldn't a robots.txt be better for that job?
  10. well, it's definitely the first event i've seen with 60+ "Needs Archived" logs on it
  11. any chance we will get again that a call to http://www.geocaching.com/my/ will take you to the login page automatically if your not logged instead of telling that you are not authorized to see the page and making you click on login manually?
  12. the new one does the autodetect now for my device (MD96710). thanks, now i can give this a look.
  13. If you ignore a cache and the cachetype is changed for the ignored cache, you do not ignore it any longer. you have to irgnore the "new" caches as well and then you have it in your list twice (with the old and the new type). after that you can delete the "old" one from your ignore list, since it not of use any more.
  14. are there any news on the subject? i experience the same problems. the ppc says that Microsoft .NET CF 2.0 is installed.
  15. you are absolutely right when you state that this is not about diplomatic relations. but maybe this is about business relations between a vendor and its customers. from a business perspective it usually is a good idea to make your customers happy so they will renew subscriptions to your service some non-us customers would feel happier if they could enter dates in the way they are used to write them and some would like to see the mix up of imperal and metric been sorted out. of course this is not about life of death. it's just about feeling good when using a product/service. and if the widget is configurable anyhow it should not be too expensive to create some happyness.
  16. that's what you do with shirts, right?
  17. whenever you are in a list with caches (not one particular listing) you can add &f=1 to the end of the url and will only see caches that you have not found yet. will this help?

  19. The requested URL /cgi-bin/gctranslate.pl was not found on this server.

    compass required

this was not about having a backup but about compass requirements. if you need some short range projection your GPSr can't do, you might try to use a reciprocal heading by adding (or subtracting) 180° from the given course.

    compass required

ähm, why would i need a compass as long as i have a gpsr (unless i'm somewhere indoor or underground)?
  22. The website search seems to not properly handle encoded URIs with some chars http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?u=Tiger%20%26%20Dragon works fine, but http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?u=Eselchen%26Radschl%E4ger does not.
