Tadpole and Geocacher status

Hello All!

I am fairly new here and a newcomer to geocaching as well. First I'd like to thank all here as I learned alot about using my eXplorist 200 which I recieved as a gift a couple years ago. It just sat there gathering dust because I wanted a GPS for navigating my truck and found it useless in this regard. About 6 mos. ago I bought a Streetpilot i3 and it does the job well. Anyways I thought it would be great if I could find a use for my 200 and now I use it for caching and will also use it for hiking. To change the subject I noticed I started as a tadpole here and now am a geocacher. My son and I have found 3 caches so far. Is this the reason for the status change? Down the road I definitely will want a gps that I can connect to my pc via usb cable and then probably pay for membership here. Maybe I'll get lucky and pick up a deal here. Sorry for the incoherant rambling.

Take Care,

Ray

Thanx for the warm welcome! I plan I taking my kids with me (one at a time though) whenever I go caching. So far my 14 yr. old son seems to enjoy the hiking and I like to see him get outdoors more so this should be a good hobby for us. My 9 yr. old daughter has been dying to go with me but I want to be sure of what I'm doing( nearly got lost in the woods last time lol). Even my 16 yr. old daughter is interested in this. Just learning how to use a gps in the wilderness could be a lifesaver!

Ray,

I have learned to mark my vehicle as a waitpoint, your GPSr can lead you back to your car after you find the caches!
