+Snoogans Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 On my "ODS: PRIME!" profile, I have been updating the number of caches hidden by state and country on a daily basis just to keep up with the ODS cache project. The list is GONE and the profile now reads the last update as 8/11. How did that happen?
+TheBeast Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Mine is missing things too! I talk to my mom and my brother and their is blank! Will this be fixed?!
+Lil Devil Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Will this be fixed?! I'm betting it would be faster for you to just make the changes again yourself.
+Thrak Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I had some minor changes go missing as well. I just fixed them myself rather than holding my breath for TPTB to get it back for me.
+GeoBlank Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 It appreared they injected a default or appended some default text to the top of existing data. I also had several settings modified. I did not recall all the settings around messenger and showing my email address. I could be wrong...
+GreyingJay Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 My profile reverted back to a few days ago, too. I wondered why it seemed like I had found 24 caches since Monday...
+Snoogans Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Will this be fixed?! I'm betting it would be faster for you to just make the changes again yourself. Gee thanks. The changes I lost represent several hours of "do over" work. I update daily because I can hardly keep up as it is.

Please remind me what the benefits of this change are so I can at least be happy about it.....?
+Lil Devil Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Please remind me what the benefits of this change are so I can at least be happy about it.....? Three small textareas were combined into one and the number of characters allowed is now more than the total of the three.
+Miragee Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Weird happenings here . . . My computer crashed and when I logged back on, my Profile had reverted to a state previous to changes I made a few hours ago. Okay, no big deal . . . However, it had also somehow grabbed my old email address. I haven't used that one for almost a year . . . And, one of the emails I received at that Yahoo address said I had to revalidate my account . . . What is happening here?

I understood that about as much as I can understand Charlie Brown's teacher when she speaks. Another thread stated that the maximum allowed content was expanded for profile pages.... Is that true? If that's part of the problem, then I CAN be happy about having to do that work all over again.

I'm not sure what exactly they were since my profile is empty, but probably Latest News, Hobbies, Biography. There was a seperate limit on the number of characters (letters or html codes) for each field. Now there is only only field (Profile?), that has a character limit too, but it is higher than the limits of the three old fields combined.
+rjb2001 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Got me too! I am new to geocaching and geocaching.com and I know that they have "the right to change things at any time with out any notice" but when I loose about 1.5 hours worth of edits I do tend to get just a bit peeved!
