For using a PDA for Geocaching and doing paperless Caching I suggest reading an article writen by Clan_Barron called Paperless Caching located here: http://65.34.18.106/content.php?article.15 His article is very helpfull on using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK) and CacheMate with your GPS and PDA's. +sbell111
CYBret has a great tutorial on Plucker here. I love Plucker, but I also recommend that you use Sunrise instead of Plucker's desktop application and Cache Log Book to record your adventures. It is a great little palm database that makes it easy as pie to keep track of all your cache hunts. Quote Link to comment

I use Plucker's desktop and am not totally thrilled with it. Thanks Quote Link to comment

Yes, using GSAK and Cachemate. Or one of 14 other combinations. Edited June 9, 2006 by Team Cotati Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I'm fairly new to Geocaching and am wondering if it's possible to download cache info to my PDA. Thanks! I use a Palm Tungsten E. I use a TE, also. I'm tempted to get an old cheapo model for geocaching so I won't be so sad if I destroy it, but I haven't gotten around to it. By the time I do, the TE will probably be my old cheapo unit and I'll upgrade to something even better. Quote Link to comment
+Packanack
How many caches can reasonably be exported to a PDA ? Is there a limit. And let's say you are going on a trip and you want to PQ an area, how do you export just those caches ? http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...=226&catalogId= Case that protects your PDA and can be worn on belt or snapped onto pack. It was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Quote Link to comment

+Miragee
There is a new version of Cachemate for the PPC that gets good reviews. I've been using the GSAK/Cachemate for Palm combo for more than a year. It is very efficient. Quote Link to comment
+jaredl
so, if I install cache mate on my ppc, then i can download the gpx files right onto my ppc and red them with cachemate? Quote Link to comment

Cache Log Book Sunrise Ok...I tried to d/l the Cache Log Book program before, and thought that I was just missing something. I went to the link provided, but get the "page cannot be found" error when I try to click on the link to d/l it. Is it just me????? Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
I know sbell111 really likes the Plucker, Cache Log Book combination, but Cachemate is only $8.00 to register, and it is a very-efficient, easy-to-use-program. When I took a recent roadtrip, I think I had more than 2000 caches in my Palm M500 in different Cachemate databases. Quote Link to comment
