+mike91911
I see under the help menu in Mapsource v6.5 there is a menu item "check for software update". I have both Trip and Waypoint Manager V2 and City Navigator North America V7 loaded in Mapsource. If I click on the "check for software update" it either shows "connecting to server" and never changes or shows "connecting to server", then shows downloading for less than a second and a window pops up saying there was an error communicating with Garmin Update Server, please retry update. If problem persists contact Garmin Tech Support. I don't even know if there are any updates needed. Anyone use this function? Mike Quote Link to comment
jay11
I find that Mapsource sometimes has trouble connecting to the update server. Be sure your firewall isn't blocking it. Anyway, there's an update to 6.11.1. You can donwload it here: http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209 Quote Link to comment
+mike91911
Thanks for the help. I'm all updated now. Firewall does not seem to be blocking the updater but the updater seems to work after the manual update. We'll see what happens after the next update comes out. +whitecrow
Maybe the update link was changed in the newer versions. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Garmin's Web Updater SUCKS! Do all of your updates MANUALLY, and you won't have any problems* MAPSOURCE & NROUTE UNITS *Exception: if the file you're downloading appears to download instantaneously, then it didn't work and you'll need to download it again, overwriting the original file.
