+lostndazed
I've just had a cache muggled and I'm not sure which option I need to choose to notify cachers that this cache isn't available at the moment.....should it be disable or archive? Quote Link to comment
+WeightMan
If you plan on replacing the cache, or want to keep the option open, then disable it. If you are not going to replace the cache then archive it. Archiving is the permanent solution. Disabling is a temporary measure to allow you time to get another cache back in place. It is also used when, for some reason, a cache will not be available for a short period of time. Quote Link to comment
+5winters
But make sure if you use the temporary setting that it is just that. There are several caches around here that seem to be permanently temporarily disabled. Kind of annoying... Quote Link to comment
+lostndazed
Thanks for the quick responses....the cache will definetly be replaced but might not be in the exact same spot. Quote Link to comment

Ditto: Since you may move the cache, keep in mind that if that changes the experience you should list it as a new cache. In some cases moving it 10' is an entirly new hide, and in other (like 200' over in another lamp post) it's pretty much the same. Quote Link to comment
+badlands
Disabling the cache a week before you archive it is a plus to many who keep the local active caches in an off line database. The disabled ones show up in the pocket queries, but the archived ones do not. Quote Link to comment
+Salty-Eagle
This thread answered my question completely. I'd like to change the cache now, (that I'm a bit more experienced) to something a little more covert, and perhaps a larger container. The first one, (it was my first cache ever) was a micro, but now I'd like to graduate to a small container, etc. I like the idea of leaving it disabled for a week, then archiving it too. Thanks for the help! Quote Link to comment
