  1. Can anyone explain, or even ratify that there is a problem? I logged in today, to see if I needed to download any Pocket Queries, and everything is gone. I have no profile, I have no caches, travelbugs, pocket queries, or anything else. It's all gone! Is there something I missed, or is GC.com simply trying to throw yet another curve into my life? Steve
  2. You can set up pocket queries in Geocaching.com, and see the new caches, found caches, and even (if anyone can come together again) event caches. However, a group of friends that want to get together and discuss Utah geocaching, I believe has flown the coop, so to speak. I would hope I'm wrong in that, I had a few pretty decent friends out there, but who knows...
  3. It sounds to me, that which I saw coming a couple of years ago, has finally transpired. The attitude of who's right, and who's wrong simply allows egos to get in the way of progress. Somewhat like our current political crop. Remember, Lenny Briscoe, (Law and Order, original show) said it best.. "There's two sides to every story, and then there's the truth". What you ladies need to do, IF anyone really gives a rats a**, is to get together, shake hands, grab a beer, and get the dadgum thing settled, and if you can't do that, publish your differences, and ask for arbitration. It's really obvious that there's a couple of very big ego's out there that simply do not realize that it's absolutely NOT all about them. GET OVER IT. Now, if no one really cares about UTAG, than that's fine. I essentially dropped out quite some time ago, when it became more about numbers, and less about the caching experience, and it simply wasn't fun scratching the he11 out of my arms reaching into juniper bushes to pluck yet another buffalo tube and attempt to sign a 1/16x1/16 inch piece of paper with my name so a cache owner could validate my signature. I would have to say that while numbers do enter into our game, the main thing that seems to be lacking here in Utah is the game itself. So, either get over it, and get the site back up, give up, and leave it down, but in the very least, QUITCHERBITCHIN!
  4. Some specifics: If you change nothing about the way you use PQs you will not be affected by this change PQs requesting between 501-1000 caches will be available as a file download only, although we will still notify you by email when it is ready PQs with less than 501 caches will be emailed as attachments and available as a file download PQs will remain available for download a maximum of 7 days from the date it was generated My Finds PQs are no longer sent as email attachments, but will be available as a file download I wish I had known this before I renewed my membership!!!!! This is EXTREMELY inconvenient for me, as I use a Mac, and for this to even begin to work for me, I have to download the "generated" PQ's, move them to a separate directory, sort them out, then run GSAK in a Windows box. This doesn't include trying to remember which one's have downloaded, which haven't, etc, etc. Talk about a PAIN!!! Is there ANY hope of having them automatically download even with the 1000 cache max? None hit the 1000, but some are around 800 or so, and don't tell me to go back the way it was, with less than 500 caches, as I generate PQ's for two states Databases, and have hit the 40 (?) PQ limit expiring sometime last year in the summer. Therefore, I can't keep up to date. Thanks for the 1000 cache increase, but booooo on the "new" download fiasco.
  5. Not sure if this will count for a gold coin, (I've already ordered a couple of the others anyway), but a couple months ago, while I was out cachin' in Salt Lake City, a lady ran a red light, and T-boned an F-350 Dually. She hit it so hard that it swung 360*, and into my Geocachemobile, a little Ford Ranger. While I, nor anyone else was hurt, (other than the vehicles), my little cachin' buddy was totaled. I can provide pictures, but it's SO sad to see it all crumpled up like that.. Couldn't even glue her back together, had to let her Rest in peace, and do without my little buddy for a while..
  6. Yes! I got mine today also, and the pictures don't do this one justice! Very nicely done! Thanks!
  7. And, the Salty-Eagle from Salt Lake City chimes in with a "HERE! HERE!", and would be happy to place in either Utah (home state), Nevada, (frequent visits), Idaho (Short drive), or Arizona (Frequent visits). I've actually got a couple caches designated as coin pouches for the release of such coins! Steve AKA Salty-Eage
  8. Hobo! Usually, I find that "www.coincodes.com" has a lot of the codes, unless you purchased them from oakcoins, who make a lot of coins. If the coins did come from oakcoins, then usually www.oakcoins.com/activate.psp or something like that will work. It all depends on which coins. I have a grundle of them, if you can either private mail me (I'm in SLC), through GC.com, I can help you with most I'm sure. Steve AKA Salty-Eagle
  9. Alas, I live on the left side of the country, so that's just out of the question for me.. could you ship me one to drool over before the event (ducking now) (nudge, nudge)
  10. What he said. I think I would have to go with 1) Antique Copper, 2) Antique Bronze, and 3) Antique Gold. I'd also be in for some of these too; E-mail on the way..
  11. Ditto. Having read through the forum here, I think I must add my 2c worth. Personally, I was, before they got too out of site, an actual Numismatist, (Coin Collector). That got way too expensive, so I thought that Geocoins would be fun. They are. However, I personally will not log a coin that I have not actually removed from one cache, and put in another. There are FEW exceptions to this for me, A Moun10Bike coin, and a Volunteer coin; neither of which I stand much of a chance of finding in the "wild". I do not personally care for the "discovery" aspect of coins, however, at events, I do make my coins available for others to see/discover/log, etc. I do not mind their "discover" logs, they're easily deletable in my mailbox. I do wish we could somehow get rid of the 5 or 6 pages of "discover" logs for coins that have moved a total of 3 miles, (hypothetical situation) though. I have good friends that appear as if they're on a "feeding frenzy" at events, logging all of the new coins, but I've also seen simple slips of paper passed around with coin tracking numbers attached. To me, actually SEEING the coin is what I enjoy, but I think that comes from my history as a coin collector, I enjoy the design of the coin, the different methods of minting, etc. For what it's worth. 12. Yes, at the risk of sounding redundant, have these arrived in John & Stacy's hands yet? I know the invoice has been paid for some time now, and was wondering when we might expect the coins. I'm leaving on a trip around the end of the month, and would like to "distribute" a few.. :-)
  13. I agree! But they went ahead and minted a matte gold finish coin along with the silver. We did listen to AtlantaGal's request to not mint any more Polished Gold coins. And this is the last Minting of this 1.5" coin! If the demand is there we may do a Silver Micro version. I just today picked up on this thread, and feel lucky to snag a few of these that are available today. There were like 19 or 20 left when I got done. I would like to know when the Micro version comes out, as I have a few micro's that I like to throw the smaller coins in. Thanks, these are super cool! Steve AKA Salty-Eagle
  14. Got mine today too, and I have to say, these are AWESOME! Probably some of the best looking coins that I've ever seen. Thanks for doing this one! Salty-Eagle
  15. YES! Me 3 (or 4?) anyway, ME ALSO! Invoice received, paid, and now to sit by the mailbox, and wait for the HEAVY envelope! Thanks for these, they look to be absolutely superb! Salty-Eagle
  16. I received mine, and have put two of the 3 out in caches already. These are absolutely beautiful coins!! A job well done!
  17. I'm using All About Coins. They did my last one as well. Mike Hey! I just saw this post, when will these be ready to reserve?? I'm definately in for at least two sets! Thanks! Salty-Eagle
  18. I just got mine today, and as one who was Army when Army wasn't cool, I have to say Thank You to the benefactor. This coin will take a place alongside my other prized Geocoin, a POW/MIA coin that has visited the Viet Nam Memorial wal, then traveled to Baghdad, and returned to me by a very wonderful GI in Texas upon his return to home, and safety. Thanks to the benefactor, a very sincere one at that. Salty-Eagle
  19. As has the Salty-Eagle! Hopefully, if I get all I reserved, I'll be broke, but I'll have a LOT of neat stuff!!! Thanks for this one! Salty
  20. And, another vet chimes in! Army, 1968 to 71 (yep, Vietnam), and US Coast Guard 1971-1975. Pick yer favorite! Thanks! E-mail Sent! Salty
  21. Most Certainly the Salty-Eagle would like 2 complete sets, one to show, one to share. Please let us know when the "official" reservations can take place! Excited? Yep, you bet!
  22. Little issue here. That code, activated ONE of the THREE coins I have. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't purchased these, can someone PLEASE get this right? Both of the coins I have, I tried, twice on Geocaching.com, and they both say that that code does not activate that coin. Suggestions? E-mail me direct if you must. oeagleo@earthlink.net Never mind, on one, I cut & pasted the space in front, the other I cut & pasted the period at the end. Sorry. I just went the rounds with PayPal over a refused refund for a $14.75 shipping lable.. Not in a real great mood.. <grin> (finally)
  23. Little issue here. That code, activated ONE of the THREE coins I have. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't purchased these, can someone PLEASE get this right? 24. It would save a lot of hearburn, and unnecessary replies, if someone would use the secret decoder ring that I obviously did not receive with my coins, and post the activation site/method/code/whatever here. The site, is NOT secret, the codes are. Please, don't tell me that these aren't able to be activated.
  25. This is GREAT! Now I should have them in time for our Chili Cook-off, and can share them with some of the fellow Utah cachers before turning them loose! Will watch for them! Steve AKA Salty-Eagle Has anyone received these coins yet? I haven't, and haven't seen much action in this forum in over a week. Is there a status update?
