Andys101 & Redfrock
It looks like I am going to have to go to Cyprus (for a couple of weeks, probably in April, but maybe not until October.) As caching has taken over my life I thought I might try and squeeze a few caches in while I am there, but it suddenly dawned on me; what do I do about a GPS? I am sure our Map60 and Geko 201 are only UK map based so how do I go about it? Quote Link to comment

+sTeamTraen
If your Geko 201 can do UK maps, I'd like to see it.... let's it will be no more ignorant of the local terrain there, than it is back home. Quote Link to comment
Andys101 & Redfrock
ok, well I have obviously just proven myself to be more dense than I thought! Quote Link to comment
+Birders
Your GPS will function as a direction indicator anywhere on the face of the earth. Suggest you try Edward Stanford, or some other reputable cartographer, for some good maps of thre island. That should help you find your way around. Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Now, remind me what the 'G' stands for in GPS Quote Link to comment
+MarkGPX
1) Do a PQ that gets all the caches in Cyprus 2) Download them to your GPSr and PDA 3) Go to Cyprus 4) Hire a scooter 5) Select "nearest waypoints" on the GPSr 6) Have fun and don't get too sunburnt! Worked for me Quote Link to comment
+sTeamTraen
Now, remind me what the 'G' stands for in GPS With me it's usually "Goshdarn", or something similar Quote Link to comment
+achilles1964
We managed to do a couple of caches in Cyprus whilst on holiday there last summer, don't recall having any GPS problems (yellow etrex). We did "Bathtime for Aphrodite" and "Ghost Village". Had a great time in Cyprus and found that the time we spent doing the caching was some of the best memories of the place that we have, it got us of the beaten track and into the countryside. Mr Achilles has also managed to do a couple of caches in his home town of Dublin. Quote Link to comment

alistair_uk
As a cacher who has a simple yellow eTrex it might seem less daunting, but can I suggest using Google Earth to plan the visit and then working off paper maps when required. I do this in the UK, and also planned a number in Prague. Quote Link to comment
