Custom Exports From Gsak

Could anyone tell me how to setup GSAK so that when it does an export to a memory map file it gives the goecaching icons?

Oh I prefer the flag Icon as that puts the cache at the base of the "flag pole", when you use the Geocaching Icons the cache point is not clearly defined as it is somewhere in the middle of the little picture of the box.

 

But if you do want them just setup a GPX export from GSAK and import that into memory map - if doing this you only get the first hand full of caches then download an update of Memory map from

Not sure if you can. MM may not support the GC icons. I don't use it but that's how it appears on the export screen when you try to change the icons used.

 

For example if you look at the Mapsource export screen you will see that the GC icons are given in the list of options. MM doesn't give them as an option.

Memory map supports custom icons, so you can can set up any icons to use. You just need to create the bitmap files as per the docs (Though I'm sure there are other Memory map users that already have all the geocaching icons set up and would be happy to share)

I have used Clyde's excellent help file to show the various icons in MM - it works great. One tip on how to get the icons without re-creating them is to bring up a page of caches from gc.com. Right click on the icon you need, eg for a Traditional cache and then click "Save picture as". You can then save it as a bitmap (bmp). Do the same for Multis, Virtuals, WebCams, Mystery...
