To make it easy I would just change 64 22.964 to 63 82.964 and subtract 00 55.835 63 82.964 - 00 55.835 -------------------- = 63 27.129 you did it correctly but I think it might have been more valuable if you said why you did it - same as in general subtraction when you 'borrow' 10 from the next column, you must 'borrow' 60 minutes from the degree column (1 degree=60 minutes) and add that to the minutes you have. +Markwell Posted August 15, 2005 Share Posted August 15, 2005 There are 60 minutes in 1 degree. Since you had to subtract 00 55.835 minutes from 64 22.964, Just subtract 1 degree and add 60 to the minutes 64-1=63, 22.964+60=82.964. Quote Link to comment
