There are tons of good caches around Newport. You can go cahing all day without even leaving the city limits. There are a number of challenging puzzle caches, and plenty of "regular" caches, too.

What do you like?

On the west side of the bridge is a small town where they filmed parts of "Me, Myself & Irene". You know the part where Jim Carrey's character suckles the boobs of the nursing mother? And the barber shop scenes? All filmed there. We were up the visiting friends a year ago and walked the cliff walk. It was nice. Not spectacular but nice. Enjoy. :D

Thanks for the caching advice. :D

Thanks for all the suggestions. We should have our hands full... We only need to get one, just one! (at least that's what I told Mrs Avroair! )

It's like eating peanuts. You can't stop at just one!

Heeeey, I just found out that Rhode Island is NOT an island. Heck its not even a peninsula.

Actually, Rhode Island is an island. The complete state name is "Rhode Island and Providence Plantations." The island on which Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth are situated used to be called Rhode Island, but is now usually referred to by its indian name, Aquidneck Island. The island was originally a separate colony when first settled by Europeans in 1638, and was later combined with Providence Plantations under a new royal charter.

There are many good caches on the island--most of them in very scenic or historic locations.
