supermanfan
Does anybody have a counter on your cache page to see how many people have visited the page? If not, Can it be done? Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
I don't, but it shouldn't be difficult. Just use HTML code to insert the counter on the cache page. Make sure you check the box stating that HTML is used in the cache description. Quote Link to comment
+mtcd
Like this? The Watermelon Stop I've been using Andale counters. There are probably others that are similar. Mtcd Quote Link to comment
+Tidalflame
I wrote a counter after reading another thread. You're free to use it. I thought about it a bit, and decided that I wanted a counter on my page. So, I wrote a very simple one that doesn't include any ugly banners or anything. To everyone else: If you would like a counter on your page, I'll let you use my script for free. It's very simple to include. Just put the following where you want the counter to appear. If you're going to use my counter, MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE THE "YOURUSERNAME" PART WITH YOUR USERNAME. Otherwise you might end up using a counter that already exists, in which case everyone using that counter would get skewed results. You can include spaces, but don't use a bunch of weird characters or it won't work. This counter doesn't count unique visits, by the way. It's just a simple hit counter. If you want to see what they look like, here is one. Edited May 27, 2005 by Tidalflame Quote Link to comment
Ted's Trekkers
maybe a silly question?I can just copy/past your script into my cache description section, correct to my user name, and submit the edited cache? thanks for help for the computer frightened! Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
If you use the HTML code above, you have to check the box on your cache page stating that HTML code is used in the cache description. I'm not sure about this, but I think you probably need to used HTML code for all the text to get correct paragraph breaks, at least that is what I did on my pages where I included HTML. To make a paragraph break, use
before the first sentence of each paragraph in the description. Use
after the last sentence of each paragraph. Quote Link to comment
+Tidalflame
I prefer to just use
whereever you need a break. Gives you more control than
. You can just copy that code and paste it on your page with the HTML button checked. Make sure you use a unique ID for each page you put a counter on, so don't just use your username if you're using more than one counter... use the name of the cache or something. I should have mentioned that earlier... Quote Link to comment
