Most Travel Bugs At An Event?

Does anyone know what the record is for the most travel bugs present at a single GeoEvent? Someone in my local area has coordinated for an event this weekend, and we have 148 travel bugs attending, which is quite remarkable.

Is this the event, where the owner of the event took this TB virtually out of a cache in Germany (he was able to because the TB number was published in a log by a newbie) and placed it into the event? I wouldn't consider this remarkable but odd.

Well, yes that would be the said event I mentioned, though I am a bit disheartened that TBs are being logged virtually instead of being present physically.

GeoWoodstock II, held last July in Nashville, had 467 Travel Bugs Logged through it.

There's a bunch going to GW3. Me and my daughter are emptying out our lodges for the weekend. I think I hold the record for most T/B's in a physical cache with 42 present at one time.

I plan on taking several to Geowoodstock III for some TB trading. Will be logging them into the event next week!

I would say to wait about a week and then ask again what the record is. lol. GW3 will probably blow the old record out of the water.

Wow, what do the owners think of having their bugs squirreled away in one cache for so long? Or does it get alot of turnover?

It gets a decent amount of turnover. It's the only macro within a decent proximity to Daytona International Speedway, which happens to be a goal for a number of travel bugs. We are taking all the bugs in it and another T/B lodge to GW3. That'll be about another 15 bugs in the event listing.

Actually, of the 42 bugs that she's referring to, 37 were using the cache to START a travel bug race. Another one had the track as a travel goal and arrived with the 37 bugs starting a race.. So of the 42 bugs that we're talking about, only 4 of them weren't because of that tb race.

At a recent event we had 5 different bug icons! Which was cool because they all show up in the listing on search results.
