Team9/11
Man, I though Ebay was bad. Now My son and I have got the taste for Geocashing. I got a GPS for my Treo (cellphone) and we located our first hide Monday. Since then we eat, sleep and hike for the cashe!. Picked up a Sportrak Map and have started downloading the waypoints. How is Geocasing in the Snow? Getting a few inches here today but I don't think it will hold us back. Just wanted to say HI! and Hope to meet some fellow cashers on the trails! +teepeeayy
Welcome to the obsession...er...I mean hobby! I borrowed a friend's GPS and went hunting my first. I did the Chicken Dance when I got my first! I felt the same way. What a rush! Just received my GPSMAP 60C yesterday, and I'm severely bumming its snowing here in the Philly area. +AuntieWeasel
Hooray for the both of yez! It's impossibly cool, isn't it? Your snow is just reaching my doorstep now, teepeeayy. But I'm less bummed, because I have a brand new pair of snowshoes I haven't tried yet Quote Link to comment

BlueDeuce
I'm so addicted I avoid all muggles (non-geocachers) out of habit. It does make it hard to ride the bus. That because of geocaching isn't it? Isn't it? Hello? Quote Link to comment
robert
caching in the snow can be a lot of fun albeit a bit more difficult so you'll need a bit more patience. most of all just have fun. welcome to geocaching! Quote Link to comment
sacherjj
It can also be easier. I remember one cache that required a hike around a lake. Well, after being 10-15 degrees for weeks, I tested the surface, and then hiked across the lake. Much quicker. Quote Link to comment
carleenp
Welcome! Snow caching is quite a bit of fun. It can make things more challenging or more itneresting. Quote Link to comment
IVxIV
Some caches are in the center of thorny bug infested bushes surrounded by swamps & lowlands in the summertime. Go seek those ones out in winter Quote Link to comment
Greymane
When I went to maintain my cache the other week, I had to pry it off the ground with a branch (and I am no little guy). Frozen like a hillbilly's butt to the outhouse seat! Quote Link to comment
