macdonr
Anyone wanting to log an earth cache, there is now one just outside Chattanooga. The Stone Door Earthcache For those of us who also consider Florida the Southeast, as of Feb 10 there is a new earthcache in Central Florida: Digging Phosphate in Bone Valley Earthcache Quote Link to comment
AB4N
Doh! I was looking through the earthcaches and overlooked that one, congrats to Mac for listing the first earthcache in the southeast, and my apologies for the oversight of a very nice cache! Quote Link to comment
macdonr
Doh! I cached a bit in Chattanooga last summer - just a few finds - but this new earthcache is added incentive to return. If only there had been geocaching when we lived in Rome, GA! We had great fun exploring the Chattanooga area some twenty years ago. Quote Link to comment
TheAlabamaRambler
Woohoo! I have a geocaching event scheduled in Chattanooga Saturday! We'll add it to our target list! Not a chance we'll be FTF by then, but that would be fun too! Quote Link to comment
AtlantaGal
I'd love to go find this one while at the event tomorrow! Quote Link to comment
Monkeybrad
The cache is well worth it. Stone Door and Savage Gulf are beautiful. Quote Link to comment
Nuwati
Don't forget about the Outer Banks earth cache located on the outer banks of North Carolina. Nuwati Quote Link to comment
AB4N
Don't forget about the Outer Banks earth cache located on the outer banks of North Carolina. Nuwati Yeah, I haven't found a good way to search and view them all on the GC site. I saw that one when I was told about the FL one after I looked over the list on the GSA page. Wish I could change the title of the thread to correct my mistake, I didn't mean to slight the other listings. I was obviously a bit over exuberant when the Stone Door got listed. +ynots4
We logged our first Earthcache find today in California. I also noticed there is no way to view all Earthcaches in the U.S. or the world. That would be a cool feature to add to the GC site! Anyway, I searched all states in the U.S. and found as of today there are 26 Earthcaches in 19 states. The highest count is 5 in Colorado. The oldest Earthcache appears to be in Maine, placed Feb. 2, 2003! I just heard about earthcaches a couple months ago by noticing it on the GC search list or was it here in the forums? - Chickasaw Quote Link to comment

ynots4
There is an Earthcache website which will explain what earthcaches are, and guess what - it has a listing of ALL EARTHCACHES there! Go to Official Earthcache Website - Chickasaw Quote Link to comment
Isonzo Karst
Another Florida Earthcache. Not far from Jacksonville for anybody planning to attend GW3 This River Flows North Quote Link to comment
DavidMac
We found the Stone Door cache last weekend and enjoyed it. I've been to the nearby Fall Creek Falls before but never even knew that the Savage Gulf area existed. It's well worth it- the area is really rugged and scenic. Quote Link to comment
