Team Snoopy
I'm sure you all know what little stone, rock things I am talking about. The ones the kids (or atleast my kids) go crazy for. They are like a flattened marble. We find them in caches all the time. But now I am trying to find out where to buy them from for my son's b-day and am not having any luck. I type polished stones or polished rocks in the search and all I find are the "spiritual" ones. Not the basic one colored kind. Any ideas where I can find these?? Thanks!!! Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
I've only seen them at smaller toy stores and souvenir shops. Let me check a few sites. Still checking, but they're are like mancala stones, glass stones, right? Edited January 4, 2005 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment
Anonymous'
Is this really caching related? Good luck finding them. Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Hey wait a minute, you’re a local to me! I know where to get them. Let me send you a PM. Quote Link to comment
Team Snoopy
Is this really caching related? Good luck finding them. Well, my son came up with a Treasure hunting b-day party because of caching, and I figured these stones have been mentioned by other cachers finding them. So what better place to ask them my fellow cachers! Quote Link to comment
GeoBrowns
I typed 'polished rocks' on eBay and there are several there that sell collections like you describe. Quote Link to comment
beebot
Try your local Craft store. You'll find these flattened marbles in many different colors. They are sold in little bags. Try finding them near the fake/dried flower department. Quote Link to comment

Morgan's Marauders
I like shiny rocks! Quote Link to comment
Team Shibby
Why not buy a rock tumbler and make your own? I had one of these as a child and was always impressed at how nice they come out, considering they look like regular old rocks when you first start the process Kar Quote Link to comment
souperteam
They are glass gems and you can find them in the floral decorating sections of stores such as Hobby Lobby, Michael's, WalMart, etc. Many online stores carry them also. Quote Link to comment

Team Snoopy
Thanks all! We're getting a prediction of up to 18 inches of snow by tomorrow night, so I'm not heading out soon. A rock tumbler is a good idea too. I was thinking about getting my ds one for Christmas, cause I wanted one, lol. So we might do that and then he has more interaction in it. Otherwise I do recall Michaels in the floral dept having some, now that you have mentioned it. And if I input flat glass marbles I can find alot online. I just couldn't figure the right thing to call them. Quote Link to comment
