Is it appropriate to log multiple finds on a multicache?

Typically no, it is not appropriate. The goal is to find the logbook so that's what the smiley is for. (Event caches seem to be the primary exception to mulitple finds)

 

Should someone log more than once, the cache owner will manage the issue and allow it or dis-allow it.

If each leg of the multicache is listed as a seperate cache, then yes. But if it's listed as one cache and has different steps to find the one cache, then no. And event caches should not be logged mulitply either. One log for the even and then one for each cache listed here on the site. Anyone can make up an event cache and make 100 caches there at the event and then log the event 100 times. That's wrong.

What others do in how they log doesn't affect me in the least.

Edit: Decided not to touch the event logging issue.

 

Typically multi-caches are logged "found" only once.

On a couple of my longer multi's, some have logged notes (or just one note that is updated) to mark their progress. Then a find when they hit the final. Multiple finds would not be allowed by me (even though several think the individual micro's should be seperate caches).

It is all up to the CACHE OWNER, he/she is the one that make the rules for his/her cache.

Etiquette-wise, its a no no.

Thanks all for the info. Will count multis as one find if from one cache posting or unless the owner shows differently.
