+cache chasers
I am going to hide my first cache in the next few weeks, but my GPS only goes to two decimal points (40 78.23 not 40 78.231) Will this cause any problems. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
It will make the target area much larger. What kind of GPSr do you use? I think I remember someone mentioning that there are firmware updates for some units that add the third decimal place. Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again. Quote Link to comment

targetdrone
According to the Magellan support website, the Pioneer does not have a computer interface. IFthere is an update to add the third decimal place, you would have to contact Magellan and then send it in to be updated. I would recommend just replacing the unit for geocaching and keep the Pioneer to attach to ATV for the dessert or something in that order. I have a Legend. I visited the Garmin site and found there had been 5 updates since they made my unit. I uploaded the latest into the GPSr and now have all the functions of the new ones. Plus, I got the map discs. Having Topo maps is almost like cheating. It even shows foot trails in most parks!!! Don't blame me, I voted for Jeremy. Quote Link to comment
magellan315
Not sure about the pioneer but on the 315 if you go: Menu set up coord systems You should be able to change it to the setting that is used by Geocaching Deg/min.mmm Quote Link to comment
+The Merman
I wondered wether you might have your Gpsr set up for marine co-ordinates. ie Degrees minute secs instead of Degrees minutes decimal. That would explain the two places instead of three. As I use mine for boating as well as caching I have to change back and forth. I woke this morning and my boat was not rocking...for one horrid moment I thought I lived in a house! Quote Link to comment
