Ltljon
They want $65 to repair my unit (315) but will they actually repair it or replace it? Quote Link to comment
Warriorrider
I had to have my MeriPlat fixed once. They had my unit fixed and back in the mail to me the very next day after receiving it . They also sent me an auto power cord and a new car gps mount for free . Very cool Quote Link to comment
G-Squad
Most likely, they will replace it. When my Map 330 would not turn on through battery power but would on external power, I emailed Magellan support. They quoted me the same $65 repair price or I could trade-in for a discount on a new model. The trade-in discount was not worth consideration so I went with the repair. Total time from my dropping it off to UPS and it being delivered to my door was about 10 days (including 2 weekends). When I got the unit back, I checked the serial number in the battery compartment and it was different. So, they replaced it with what was probably a reconditioned unit. For $65, I got a reconditioned Map330. Oh, they threw in a free carry case! If my current Map330 went south, would I spend $65 again? Absolutely. It does everything I need in a GPS. But, would I spend $65 for a reconditioned 315? I dunno. It is actually something I have to consider because I have one as a backup and it is not communicating with my PC. Taking a look on Ebay, it would seem the $65 might be worth it. Edited November 26, 2004 by GeoGeorge Quote Link to comment
Ltljon
Thanks for the info. I've also got a 330 that I really like but wanted to keep a spare/loaner unit around too. Guess I'll mail it in, at least it should be useable & $65 isn't too bad of a price to have in a "usable" unit. Thanks again! Quote Link to comment
phantom4099
What is the problem your having with the unit? Maybe some one here may have a fix. Wyatt W. Quote Link to comment
