+FluteLlama
Is there anyone in the Fairfield/Suisun area who could mentor or tutor a newbie. I'm new to GPS, not just to GeoCacheing. I think I bought a unit with toooo many bells & whistles, so I'm sorta confused. But I'm a willing learner. FluteLlama Quote Link to comment
WH
Youd be better off posting in the regional forums. You more likely to find cahers near you in there. Quote Link to comment
+FluteLlama
Hi WH, Where do I find a Regional Forum? FluteLlama Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
The South and Southwest Regional forum can be found here (you have to scroll pretty far down on the list of possible forums to find it). I'll also move this thread over there. Quote Link to comment
+FluteLlama
But I'm not in the SouthWest. I'm in Northern California. Judging by our weather here lately, I certainly wouldn't claim we're in the Southern portion of the state. Brrrr. Is there a SF Bay Area Region? Or perhaps a Sacramento Area Region? Better still, a NorthBay Region, which would be more accurate really. By the way, thank you for your help too. Quote Link to comment
+JohnnyVegas
The West southwast forums include N.Ca. Thre is a San Francisco bay arae thread. Your other option is attending on of the event caches, there is one Sunday in Dublin. Most GPSr had features you will never need, just learn to enter a waypoint and how to backtrack and maybe set up a route for starters, BTW what GPS did you buy. Quote Link to comment
+FluteLlama
I bought the Garmin GPSMap 76CS. Maybe I shoulda gotten an E-Trek or something a little less sophisticated & then work my way up later. Oh well. I was looking for a screen large enough to really see with baby boomer eyeballs. Anyone out there have one of the 76CS? Quote Link to comment
+TeamMoehrke
I'll help. I'm in Vacaville. I've not seen a 76cs, but I've got a 60c and have been using it for a while, so I can probably clear up some of the confusion. Write to me at my profile e-mail and we'll set something up.
