gwo
I maintain a geocache. I notice that some one has placed a travel bug in it. Would it be acceptable for me to take the TB out of my own cache and move him on to another one where he's headed? Quote Link to comment
+CWL
I don't see why not. I've done it before. The TB owner would proabably really appreciate it! Been there... Done that... Quote Link to comment
+Bill D (wwh)
I agree with CWL. I think some cachers won't take TBs from their own caches, but many will. After all, the purpose of a TB is to travel, and as long as you can help it on its stated mission, fine. Bill ------------------------------- "Ah, take the Cache and let the Credit go..." +briansnat
Go right ahead if you can help it on its journey. "You can't make a man by standing a sheep on his hind legs. But by standing a flock of sheep in that position, you can make a crowd of men" - Max Beerbohm Quote Link to comment
+Xitron
Let me state the other side of the opinion. I don't think a cache placer should take anything out of a cache he placed unless it was placed there for him by a cacher. Wheres the challange of finding your own cache? Leave it too the finders, and a bonus is a TB will usually increase the traffic to your cache site. Just one opinion of many. Quote Link to comment

If you are interested in the TB someone left in your cache and you are able to help move it towards any goal it might have, go ahead and snag it. Quote Link to comment
+Xitron
LOL agreed BassoonPilot! I don't sweat it, it was just my thoughts on the subject. I'm not going to lose sleep over it if someone wants to help a TB on its way from his own cache. Quote Link to comment
+bthomas
Travel bugs are a separate game, so harvesting your own cache is okay. That said, if I'm interested in a bug in one of my caches, I tend to let it hang there for a day or two, for others to see. At my hotel, I do not harvest much, only visiting about twice a month and trading about 2 IN for 1 OUT. Bugs are a cache enticement for only some cachers. They are also an enticement for some muggle thieves, so some times you save them if they sit getting stale. Quote Link to comment
