Travel bug etiquette

I agree with CWL. I think some cachers won't take TBs from their own caches, but many will. After all, the purpose of a TB is to travel, and as long as you can help it on its stated mission, fine.

Let me state the other side of the opinion. I don't think a cache placer should take anything out of a cache he placed unless it was placed there for him by a cacher. Wheres the challange of finding your own cache? Leave it too the finders, and a bonus is a TB will usually increase the traffic to your cache site.

Just one opinion of many.

Don't sweat it; it's small stuff. If you are interested in the TB someone left in your cache and you are able to help move it towards any goal it might have, go ahead and snag it.

Travel bugs are a separate game, so harvesting your own cache is okay. That said, if I'm interested in a bug in one of my caches, I tend to let it hang there for a day or two, for others to see. At my hotel, I do not harvest much, only visiting about twice a month and trading about 2 IN for 1 OUT.

Bugs are a cache enticement for only some cachers. They are also an enticement for some muggle thieves, so some times you save them if they sit getting stale.
