+SixDogTeam
Patrick is on this mad passionate frenzy. He's hidden a couple of caches that take you to neat little waterfalls...that we've found serendipitously. Is there a SOURCE that will locate waterfalls for us? Now that we have caches in every cemetery in a 300 mile radius, we've chainged our focus. Not Niagara falls, mind you, just little ones( 2'-30' ) on creeks that empty into the rivers, that's about all we have around here... We don't want to hike down every creekbed in the county... Any ideas on how I can find out where they are? Do they show up on topo maps, for example? Quote Link to comment
+The Puzzler
I think waterfall caches are a great idea. I've done a lot of hiking and never seen a waterfall guide. I would guess you'll just have to start walking the local waterways that are shown on topo maps, and that run across some tight contour lines. You can start using finding waterfalls as your excuse for hiking instead of finding geocaches. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
If you can read a topo you can easily find waterfalls. Look for a spot where contour lines arevery close together and a creek, stream or river crosses it. Quote Link to comment

+Prime Suspect
USA Guide to Waterfalls Pretty funny. They list the falls in Wichita Falls, TX, which is a fake, recirculating, man-made falls. The tiny falls that gave the town its name washed away over a century ago. They got tired of visitors asking where the falls was, so they just built a new one. Edited September 18, 2004 by Prime Suspect Quote Link to comment

Wel, not in the Netherlands. see this cache Waterval and when you look at this topo map 1:25k you only see a hight difference from -1.80 m to -2 m. Yes indeed it is a very small waterfall below seelevel Quote Link to comment
+The Geocache Hunter
I have always seen waterfalls on topographical maps represented as quick little zigzags. Quote Link to comment
