Ferreter5
======================================================================= Victor, NY 2004-05-12 ======================================================================= The New York Geocaching Organization (NYGO) is happy to announce that a positive geocaching policy has been established with the Town of Victor, NY Parks and Recreation Department. Meetings and telephone conversations in April and May of 2004 has led to establishing a gentleman's agreement. At this time permission is granted for placing geocaches in parks and on trials in Victor, NY. There are no forms to fill out nor does specific permission need to be obtained for each geocache placed. The Director of Victor Parks and Recreation does not see the need to bring the subject of geocaching before the town board nor initiate a town code addressing geocaching. He has stated that communication is the key, and is very pleased with the results so far. NYGO will be working closely with the town to address any issues that may arise in the future. According to a NYGO public relations committee member, "As a result of cooperative hard work and professionalism by everyone involved the Town of Victor enthusiastically welcomes geocaches to their parks and trails. Let's all keep up the good work and high standards!" The New York Geocaching Organization can be contacted at: Mail: New York Geocaching Organization P.O. +IMLost
Great work guys! I added your press release to the Northeast Geocaching site to help spread the word. Ferreter5 do you maintain the NYGO site? I would like to link to your news feed if that would be OK or can you tell me who to get in touch with? Edited May 15, 2004 by IMLost Quote Link to comment
Ferreter5
I don't maintain the NYGO website. For that you should get in contact with either OurWoods or junglehair. Quote Link to comment
